Girls’ Generation’s “Mr.Mr.” Makes Time Magazine’s List of Top Songs of 2014

Girls’ Generation has been honored with a place on Time magazine’s list, “Here Are the 25 Best Songs of 2014 (So Far),” for the song “Mr. Mr.” The article appeared in the “Music” section of the magazine’s website.

Also included on the list were big-hitting international artists such as Sam Smith, Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey. The article was compiled by several Time contributors. Describing “Mr Mr,” journalist Lily Rothman wrote, “Fans of K-pop juggernaut Girls’ Generation (a.k.a. SNSD) won’t be disappointed by their latest dance-friendly single, and the addition of a scratchy electronic bass line and a hint of darkness should even attract listeners who don’t dig their usual bubblegum sound.”

The song was released as part of the mini album of the same name in February, and peaked at Number 4 on Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart.
